Description

107x90 seconds @ ISO400

2" Astronomik UV/IR Cut

No guiding. My guider camera kept losing the star with the clouds so I turned it off.

I used the built in dithering in Astrophotography tool.

I got tired of waiting for clear skies, and there was almost clear sky last night (6/2/2021). So just for fun, I tried using my old Canon 60D (Ha modified) after having it stored away since January. What can I say...the battery lasted through the whole night (11pm-8am) with 6% still left, although it stopped imaging around 4:15am as I planned the sequence. After deleting about 30 subframes having too much clouds in it, I decided to stack the rest (107) and see if there is anything really among that massive amount of noise it recorded. The double star at center is sort of blinding, due to the haze I was photographing through, perhaps some cloudy frames made it into the stack. Also Barnard's Star had to be cropped off, due to looking like a big orange amp glow.

I also believe, that either my flattener doesn't flatten right or there is a tilt in the telescope lens, seeing the upper right corner has more elongated stars, while the other corners look better.

Not going to win any awards but I'll upload it so if nobody else I can find it later.
